From the South

I would like to congratulate Josh Beason as our newest Entered Apprentice Mason. It is good to see the young men of our community join the greatest fraternity in the world. I hope real soon we will have another Entered Apprentice Mason, Mr. Levi Shaffer. His 1st degree is scheduled for Thursday evening @ 7pm. Both young men will hopefully be at their first meeting on Saturday morning. This Saturday we are honoring the brave men and women who serve the Globe/Miami community. I would be great if as many members as possible show up for lunch in their honor on Saturday at China Taste.

Congratulations to Brother Fred Marquardt who gave the Apron Lecture to Brother Josh on very short notice. He did a real nice lecture and will give it also to Levi on Thursday. My hats off the Brother Ed Warner, our Senior Warden for his opening, conferral, and closing for Brother Josh. I expect great things from our new Masons and we some encouragement and support, I have no doubt that this will happen.

Fraternally,

Bill Greenen, PM

White Mountain Lodge March 1959

A petition for affiliation from brother Edward Morrow was presented and he was elected.

Doric Lodge March 1959

In observance of public school week, a program was presented by Brother McClain, principal of Miami High School and Brother Raymond Cordes, principal of Bullion Plaza School.

Something to Think About

"A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, 'who would like this $20 bill?' Hands started going up. He said, 'I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.' He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up. He then asked, 'who still wants it?' Still the hands were up in the air. Well, he replied, 'What if I do this?' And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now who still wants it?' Still the hands went into the air.

'My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value: dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who love you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by who we are. You are special - Don't ever forget it."

There is nobody like You!
