My brothers all:
If you have not marked
your calendars to attend our next stated meeting, please do so
and underline it in red! On Saturday, October 10th
we will be honored to welcome the Grand Lodge
Military degree team to our lodge. Immediately following our
meeting, we will reconvene to witness them conferring the 2nd
degree to one of our candidates.
If you have never been
privileged to see this team put on the Fellowcraft degree you
cannot/should not miss this. The brothers of this team all wear
the uniform of the armed service they were a member of. They do
it with all the precision and demeanor you would expect of a
drill team, yet it is truly Masonic in every respect. For those
of you who are Veterans, this will be a heart-warming thrill. I
can guarantee each of you that you will be filled with pride and
awe in being a part of this event. Judging from conversations we
have had we expect there to be many visiting brethren to join us
that day, so plan to come early and get a good seat.
We will all retire to
enjoy a wonderful noon meal immediately following our meeting.

FROM THE SOUTH
Sorry to miss the meeting and the
degree team this month but I'm heading South (Pun intended). I'm
taking Sharon on a cruise to Mexico since it's her fall break.
She teaches elementary (4th grade) at Bernard Black
Elementary school in South Phoenix and she deserves it. Have a
great month!

Affiliation petition from Jesse
Bentley was approved and he was elected as a member.
The
lodge authorized the purchase of 52 more chairs for the dining
room.

The lodge decided to start giving a
silver trowel to new master masons instead of a bible.
A funeral was conducted for Brother
Marian Yeager a mason from Ghent, Kentucky.
